Jen Uman

"My life has been equally beautiful as it's been brutal and I try to be fair to both sides. Pulling from the brutal part isn't always necessary, so that's when I lean on the beautiful. It goes both ways."

Jen Uman is an artist who currently lives and works in Nashville, Tennessee. She is a self-taught painter, illustrator, and video maker. Her work has been on display throughout the United States and abroad including: Germany, Italy, Iran, Japan, and Korea. She has been published in The New York Times, by cult Swiss publishing house Nievesand is the co-author and illustrator of the critically acclaimed children's book Jemmy Button that has been translated into multiple languages. Jen's artwork is well collected, appearing in the home of acclaimed American film director and screenwriter Wes Anderson.
