DUSTY RAY is a Portland based painter. He grew up in Colorado and studied literature before devoting his life entirely to painting. His small and detailed gouache and oil paintings tend to portray the rudely animalistic, meaty red stuff on the inside and a fractured exterior. His work leans towards a dense depiction of a graphic, dreamy realism. He primarily uses gouache and oils, but also produces work with graphite and digital collage.
