Kim Michelle was raised on the shores of Cape Cod Massachusetts where the salty air clears the way for inspiration to come through. Since she could pick up a crayon KM was drawing, painting, making crafts and processing life through her artistic expression. She attended Mass College of Art and graduated with Honors in 2005. Seeking warmer weather she migrated to Florida where she worked and saved up money to travel abroad. Once she found Pavones, Costa Rica she knew she had found her freedom place where she could paint unencumbered by distractions and outside influences. After 8 years full of deep experiences, spiritual initiations, and surviving jungle-life she returns to the US to plant her seeds once again closer to family and longtime friends. KM is thrilled to share her recent work “state-side” which aims to inspire truth, clarity, harmony, healing, love, peace and all spiritual values through painting “Goddess Portraits.”
"Goddess of Love and Relationships and the Sacred Marriage. Wife of Shiva, God of Destruction. I was inspired by their story to create this painting. Here is the story:
Once when the world, in grave danger was in dire need of Shiva’s power he stay meditating on Mount Kailash unavailable to anyones pleas. After the Gods had exhausted their efforts, their last resort was to bring Parvati, a beautiful young (human) princess to seduce him into waking. At this she failed. In her despair she decided to renounce the world as she was truly in love with Shiva and without him there was no purpose to go on with her life. She went to a mountain in South India and sat in meditation for many years. Out of her austere practice arose Shakti, the divine feminine power of the universe. This radiant boundless love finally awoke Shiva out of his Meditation. He came to her and their union symbolized the true meaning of Yoga, to yoke, and the meaning of Hatha yoga, the uniting of opposites."
