“Scribes in the Sky” is a collaborative conversation between two artists, Felipe Ortiz and Andrew Jacob. In this series, paintings were passed back and forth a multitude of times, guiding each tale in different directions through brush stokes, abstract applications of paint, and scribes. These evocative dreamscapes are structured within iconic Cape Cod scenes and lesser-know nooks of the area. Like the age-old tales filled with pirate lore, lost treasures, love loss and famed sea voyages, each painting captures the essence of the art of storytelling. By channeling the spirit and vigor of these famed Cape legends, “Scribes in the Sky” aspires to bring light to all the stories that have passed through the spaces of these classic locations and remained in the ether of the scenic landscape over the years.
